The 2002 Brut Grand Vintage opens with an attractive, toasty bouquet that leads to ripe pears, apricots, flowers and spices. The 2002 shows excellent up-front richness that doesn't quite carry through to the finish. This is a good choice for drinking over the next few years as it is quite accessible relative to most 2002s readers are likely to come across. The 2002 Brut Grand Vintage is 51% Chardonnay, 26% Pinot Noir and 23% Pinot Meunier. This is Lot LAFRWAC. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2017
This aromatic bubbly is elegant and bracing, featuring graphite, citrus and spice on the nose, with hints of flowers and toast on the palate. Refined and long, with a firm chalky finish. To be released Spring 2011. Best from 2013 through 2032. -BS
An attractive fruit forward nose of peaches, apricots and touch of honeysuckle. The palate is round and plump with a richness that gives way to a fresh acidity and a touch of chalk / minerality on the finish. This is very much a wine to be drunk & enjoyed 'now'.
Pale lemon and lime with a delicious floral note, over and above the more four-square style typical of Porusots. White fruit with a little salinity, this could use a touch more fruit in the middle if possible.
