The 2021 Echo de Lynch-Bages is a chunky, flavorful red, exhibiting aromas of cassis, minty blackberries, creamy new oak and fresh herbs. Medium to full-bodied, lively and youthfully structured, time will likely tame its slight rusticity. Drink Date: 2027 - 2037
Echo is 56% Merlot with the rest Cabernet Sauvignon and is consequently more forward than usual in 2021. Maturation in second fill Lynch Bages barrels for 12 months. Vivd purple colour. Pencil shavings, graphite and cool blackcurrant fruit on the nose. The palate has a real crunch of tannin but this integrates into the black fruit with the aid of sweet wood spice. Focused and fine, this lingers with cedar, tobacco and more cool blackcurrant on the finish. It will need a year or so in bottle to settle but should offer drinking pleasure in the mid-term.
Lots of Lynch character to this wine, with a full body and blackcurrant, dark-chocolate, tar and lean-pencil character. Full and flavorful. Solid center-palate. Second wine. Nicely put together. 56% merlot and 44% cabernet sauvignon.
The 2021 Echo de Lynch-Bages is a blend of 56% Merlot and 44% Cabernet Sauvignon. Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, it gives up expressive scents of baked plums, black cherry preserves, and warm cassis with touches of dried herbs and tree bark. Light to medium-bodied, the palate is delicate, verging on thin, with soft, well-managed tannins and seamless freshness, finishing with an herbal lift.
2024-2034
A little more angularity to the tannins than the Ormes de Pez, a little more serious overall, very much in the Pauillac spirit. This gets better as it opens, it has good balance and plenty of freshness, 11% new oak, rest one year old. 3.7ph.
Offering up aromas of minty cassis and blackberries mingled with loamy soil, the 2021 Echo de Lynch-Bages is a medium to full-bodied, lively and charming wine that's nicely balanced, but not especially deep or penetrating.
